Therapeutic massage is the kneading of muscles and connective tissue to promote relaxation and well-being, improve function and aid in the process of healing. Regular therapeutic massage can be very effective for stress reduction, relieving muscular tension and for pain relief. It also enhances your general well-being. Massage therapy for health improvement and rehabilitation will require a treatment plan to address a specific need over a specified period of time. Typically, I recommend bi-weekly appointments to insure that the benefits of the services rendered can produce the desired result. This frequency also prevents muscular tissues from relapsing into their previous tension patterns (muscles have memory!)
