Travel Memories: Grateful For Home

There is so much that I love about Bali– the nature, the food, the people. But I am always remembering that there is so much to love about my own country, the USA. America is large and has some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes complete with oceans, lakes, forests, plains, mountains and deserts. We have a variety of delicious food (although I TOTALLY question the decisions we’re making about livestock and agriculture. In this fabulous country, that we even contemplate genetically modified foods is absurd and the way we treat the majority of our livestock is inhumane. I cannot believe that 99% of our consumption is built on this fucked up paradigm. I keep praying it to shift and until it does, I will avoid it and certainly not condone it.) And American people are quick with a smile and a hand-up when you need it.
I’m happy to be traveling through this exciting part of the world, but I am always grateful for my roots.

I want to hear from you. What's your opinion?
